Our friends at Purple Sneakers are definately running things when it comes to indie/party nights. A national tour, a new years party that almost stopped time, and of course a weekly party that turns Sydney upside-down every friday.

This is a new mix from djs M I T and Ben Lucid – two of Purple Sneakers’ prize assets. Its all the radness you would expect to hear at one of their nights, only now you can enjoy it at home too!

Also, i should mention that M I T is wise like a miniature Buddha.

Remember footrot flats? Yeah… im that old too. The original song ‘Slice of Heaven’ by Dave Dobbyn was a massive hit in Australia and New Zealand back in the day. Its one of our favourites to drop in a set whenever there is a group of Kiwis in the room. They go nuts for it! Australians seem to like it too, but man… i gotta hand it to our New Zealand friends – they seem to just light up whenever they hear the opening chant.

So this is our re-interpretation of it. You should definately still go out and buy the original (its a classic!) but this is a Baltimore Club remix thats ready for the dancefloor. Keep it in your crate until you notice a large group of New Zealanders in the bar, trust me it will be worth the wait!

Oh… one more thing! Gotta give credit where credit is due… The idea for this remix came from our friend Simon late one night when we were in Melbourne. We were full of Agua (spelling?) and one drink away from calling it a night, when he suggested we do a Baltimore re-rub of ‘Slice of Heaven’. I promised him we’d do it and send it to him, and here it is. Proof that we keep our promises, even when they’re made at 3am through slurred speech.

We were visiting the lovely town of Lennox Heads yesterday when i happened to stumble onto this – Unicorn poo!!
As you can see, it can also be used as a telephone, or a fun multi-coloured dildo! WEEEEEEE!!!

 Download ‘INDIE PANTS DANCE’

Lately we’ve been getting a few opportunities to play at indie parties, which has been really fun for us. We usually play a lot of that type of music anyway, but its been a fun challenge to filter our selections down to just indie and party tunes for those specific nights, while still keeping our ‘Surecut’ sound.
