Its finally here…. The Purple Sneakers NYE House Party. This thing is going to blow the lid off it FO SHO!!! The lineup is nuts, there’s three stages…. in fact a little bit of wee comes out whenever i think about this!! We are going to be doing the closing set on the FBI stage so if you can make it along on the night, holler at us on twitter and lets have a beer!

We didn’t know what to expect from out trip to Port, but with an open mind the Surecut family ( Mikey, Me and my wifey Nay ) set sail on the open road. It ended up being a awesome little adventure and meeting some new friends, the ‘Smoke and Mirrors Dj’s’.
The trip was everything a road trip should be, with shitty food, shitty car games a sore butt and having fun being bored out of your mind. The gig when really well and Mikey stayed up to 4am having a Bromance with Starky from the Smoke and Mirror Dj’s.
The trip had sun, beach, beers and good toimes! Hopefully we will see you again soon Port.

Another gig poster for ya here – this is a show we will be doing at the Ruby Tramp on Sunday 27th. Expect booty shaking, bass heavy, block rocking beats and better stretch up cos you dont want to give yourself a dance-wound on the night. Also, the monday is a holiday so theres absolutely no reason to not take your pants off for this one. DLUXX is supporting and if you’ve never seen him before, the guy fucken smashes it! Oh… and our set has nothing to do with zombies, they were just on my mind when i was drawing up the poster. Anyhoo… see you all there for post-Christmas, pre-new-years craziness.

Last time we supported Ugly Duckling at the Great Northern Hotel in Byron Bay we stayed up to 4am drinking Jack with Dizzy( that man can drink ) and one of his mates acting like a couple of school girls would to one of the Jonas Brother. I spent hours on end trying to convince him to barge into the room that my brother in law was staying in and wake him up with me and harass him. Convinced it would be the funniest thing ever!!!! Dizzy politely refused every time i insisted, what a patient man he must be. I mean i was BLISTERINGLY drunk.

In saying all of that, i hope he cant remember us for shit!! because we are supporting Ugly Duckling and Lyrics Born @ the Hi Fi in West End with The Winnie Coopers and a whole array of Brisbane’s finest. Be there or be square… werd!!

This is the Sermstyle remix of ‘Box N Locks’ by MPHO. The original caused quite a ruckus by sampling from ‘Echo Beach’ by Martha and the Muffins. Obviously there’s a lot of people around today who still don’t understand the relevance of sampling old tunes to make new tunes. ANYHOO…. loved the original, but this remix is a whole next level. It’ll get you from 6pm to midnight every time! If anyone out there knows where i can get a good quality mp3 of this version please let me know because i have scoured the interweb and cannot find one. Ever since the big festivals became so damm massive, there has been a real need for these ’boutique festivals’. Fewer people, more accessible, but still with a red-hot lineup and all the trimmings you’d expect. Introducing the first ever ‘Cheap Thrills’ festival. Its presented by ‘Disco Entertainment’ (who have been making serious moves in Brisbane lately), and supported by legendary party-throwers ‘Free Form Events’ and ‘FANS’. The lineup is nuts, and the best part – early bird tickets are only 35 bones! That means you’ll have enough change from your hundy to buy yourself a nice spritzer or a couple of shandies!! And once you’ve done that, make sure you come and party with us – we will be doing our thing and probably setting a new record in sweatiness (well, me at least… Benji seems to have more of a normal sweat level). Those of you who got a hold of Cutloose’s Summer Disco Bang Pt1 last year will agree that it was one smooth mix that really felt like summer. Well our favourite vampire wookie is back this year with the second installment. A couple weeks back i played at the Christmas party for G.S.M. which is the company that owns Billabong, Element, Nixon, VonZipper, Kustom, Tigerlily, and a bunch more… As you can see from this footage, it was no ordinary ‘corporate function’. Those fuckers know how to party!!!

WE ARE GONNA BE PLAYING AT THE BIG DAY OUT!!!!!  IN THE B… B.. BOILER ROOM!!!!!!!! ……….and …….ive …….climaxed.

Couple of red-hot gigs coming up this weekend… The first is ‘Threaded’ at Alhambra in the Valley this friday night. Its featuring BMX Djs, Morgan Baker, Bobby York, Noy & J Mac …. Oh and us! Alhambra is one of the very best clubs in Brisbane – it is pure dopeness so we are always excited about the opportunity to play there.

Then on sunday its gonna really be time to shake the ponytail out because we are supporting The Hump Day Project at Birdee Numnums. We have never played at Birdee’s before so its all very exciting. Ive been told to bring my boardshorts because there is a pool there and apparently its a pre-requisite to play there you have to jump in the pool. … works for me! The Hump Day Project are rad – got to meet them 2 weeks ago at Ruby Tramp where they played a great dancefloor set. Really looking forward to seeing them do their thing agin this weekend. POOL PARTY!!!!

Good evening peeps, we have got an absolute scorcher for you here (scuse the pun). Our fuzzy-haired friend Sampology has absolutely nailed it with his new mix. Its called the ‘Spicy December Mix’ and features a few of his own edits, one of ours, some crazy skills, and is absolutely party-rocking from start to finish. Its got a definate spicy feel to it with lots of dancehall vibes and ‘world’ (i hate that phrase) sounding riddims. Plus just the right amount of classic party jams.
