“What can I say? Surecut Kids are the next BIG thing! Style, skills, musical knowledge, and an invaluable sense of humor = all the ingredients of superstars in the making. Surecut Kids are surefire winners. Plus they have the word Kid in their name. Awesome.”

- Kid Kenobi (Klub Kids records)

“My most favourite party DJs in the whole wide world!!!”

- Martin Novosel (Purple Sneakers / Boundary Sounds)

Surecut Kids are a two-man music production / remix / DJ group. Benji (the hat loving, coffee obsessed, perfectionist.) and Mikey Likey (the dangerously optimistic one). Together they have been pushing the boundaries of how much time two people can stand to be near each other. Also, they rock a party like their lives depend on it.

The Surecut Kids show has two different modes. The first is a normal club show, where they play a dj set on two turntables and an MPC. Taking turns between mixing, scratching, drumming on the MPC and hyping the crowd on the mic. The second is the full setup, the big Kahuna burger: Four decks, two mixers, and an MPC. These shows are planned, rehearsed & road tested sets that involve quick mixing, turntable tricks and MPC routines.

Whatever setup you see them in, you’ll definitely notice the enthusiasm the duo puts into their performances. Jumping around like crazy, sweating all over the equipment, and generally having the time of their lives. The guys hold the belief that if they aren’t going crazy, then the audience can’t be expected to.

Never wanting to be pigeonholed as a particular genre, the Surecut Kids have focused on being musically diverse. Styles switch through Bass, Club, Dubstep, Moombahton, Indie, Baltimore, Drum and Bass, Baile, Hip Hop, Booty, Funk and a whole heap more. All mixed in a way that even the shortest of attention spans could appreciate.

Their on-stage antics have seen them travel to Kuala Lumpur, Papua New Guinea, Bali, as well as Nationwide throughout Australia – including frequent return requests from Family in Brisbane, Neverland on the Gold Coast, and Purple Sneakers Sydney.

The guys are no strangers to festivals, having performed at The Big Day Out, Splendour In The Grass, Good Vibrations, Parklife, Summafieldayze, Future Music Festival, BBQ Breaks, The Pro Show, Round & Round, ‘That’ Festival, Electronic Vibes, and Chalkfest. They have shared the bill (and the rider) with many of their favourite artists including Diplo, A-Trak, Dj Craze, Z-Trip, Salt N Pepa, Busta Rhymes, Major Lazer, Naughty By Nature, Gossip, Dizzee Rascall, MIA, XXXChange, 2Many Djs, Fake Blood, Pase Rock, Justice, Ugly Duckling, Lyrics Born, Dj Yoda, Russell from The Bloc Party, Chemical Brothers, Busy P, Vanilla Ice and too many others to list here.

The pair also run a blog www.surecutkids.com which they use to release their bootlegs, re-edits and ever popular mixtapes and to keep fans up to date on their forthcoming shows.

This year has started with a bang for the guys. Performing to a packed Boiler Room at the Big Day Out for the second consecutive year. Their KillaQueenz remix getting A rotation on FBI Radio in Sydney and Radio Metro on the Gold Coast. Taking bookings all over Australia. Their mixtape receiving national airplay on Triple J’s ‘Mix-Up’ programme, their bootleg of Kanye’s ‘Power’ tearing up the blogosphere, plus a national tour to promote their debut EP.

Recently signed to Kid Kenobi’s flourishing Klub Kids label http://www.klubkids.tv the boys debut EP ‘Dayum Girl!’ has been making waves. The single ‘Drunk In This’ has gotten some amazing feedback including international and local support from the likes of Calvertron, Dodge & Fuski, NAPT, Shockone, RackNRuin, Oh Snap!, Aquasky, Drumattic Twins, Speciman A, Aston Shuffle, Cutline, Larry Tee, and more. The single and some of the remixes have been licensed to various compilations including a Onelove dubstep mix and a Ministry Of Sound bass mix. It also received some crazy chart love hitting #39 on the Australian (ARIA) Club Chart and #15 on the Beatport Electro House charts (thanks to a smashing TJR remix). Not to mention airplay on JJJ, FBI, Radio Metro, and BBC1 in the UK thanks to support from Kissy Sell Out.

Its been a whirlwind already and with a bunch of remixes, collabs, and an album on the way, the future is looking very ‘yes please’ for Surecut Kids.
